Website Improved to Keep You Better Informed

Latest Articles

The Estate Planning & Elder Law Services website has recently undergone a complete update. The changes are designed to keep you better informed and provide you with more resources in the areas of estate planning, elder law, probate, trust administration, as well as tax related matters. We plan to make regular updates to the site throughout next year.

Here are some of the highlights of the areas of the website that we think you will find beneficial.

Practice Areas

In this section of our website, we provide detailed information in these three areas:

We believe that these areas of our website are an excellent initial resource to gain basic information on these topics.

Blog

However, there are constant changes in the law. Indeed, within the last year we have seen some of the most significant changes in these areas of the law than we have seen in a decade. Our firm plans to keep you apprised these changes by way of our monthly newsletters, but also with regular posts to our firm’s blog. For your convenience, the posts are sortable by the categories shown on the right hand side of the blog page. We have blog posts going back to 2008.

Events

Another feature is the Events and Seminars tab which shows locations, times and topics for local presentations on matters of interest to our clients.

We already have a slate of classes/seminars scheduled in the first quarter of next year. Classes will address some of the significant changes that have occurred in last year in areas of Medicaid, VA benefits, real property law, tax laws, etc. These classes are particularly educational for people that are interested in getting their estate plans completed or updating their existing estate plan to make sure that it is compliant with current laws, especially if it has been done some time ago.

In addition, we began conducting webinars late last year and plan to do announce a series of additional webinars that will be held this upcoming year. These are presentations that you can watch from the convenience of your own computer, and which are approximately 30-45 minutes in duration. While our public seminars and classes are designed to provide a broad overview, the webinars will be more focused on a particular topic of interest to our clients and act as an alerts to significant changes in the law that affect you.

We plan to keep our webinars archived in the Free Resources section of our website.

Helpful Resources

And finally, our Free Resources tab provides for anyone visiting our website a handy and useful group of resources you should find helpful.

Among them are:

  • A library of ever-growing, Free Informational Guides, such as Estate Planning MythsWhen a Loved One Passes Away: What to Do Next, and VA Benefits for Veterans and Their Families.
  • Forms and checklists for organizing your matters to help you and your family – such as our Personal Affairs Organizer and more ….
  • We will provide on-demand Webinar presentations that our firm has done in the past, which you can watch at any time from any computer. For example – watch the one we did late last year on the changes in the Medicaid Caregiver Rule which stands to affect every one of our elder clients and their families.
  • A variety of calculators and figures continually updated to help your planning.

This can be a valuable resource, giving you greater comfort that your estate planning is up to date. If you have any suggestions, please let us know by contacting us using our online contact form to reach us.
